LeBron James passes Shaquille O’Neal for seventh on NBA’s all-time scoring list

LeBron James is clear of another NBA legend on his ascent up the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

The Cavaliers forward passed Shaquille O’Neal with his 28,599th career point during Thursday’s 99-93 loss to the Bulls, good for seventh-most in history.

James, who entered the night needing 23 points to tie O’Neal (25,596), secured the milestone midway through the fourth quarter by sinking a free throw. He finished with 26 points in the loss, Cleveland’s third straight and fifth in seven games as its grip on the Eastern Conference loosens considerably.

“But this team really just hasn’t had it. They haven’t had it since Phil Jackson landed there.”

It’s Jackson’s third year as the Knicks’ president. During his first two seasons, the Knicks posted a 17-65 and 32-50 record, respectively. With a 28-47 record and only seven games left in this season, New York won’t be making the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

Even though Pippen and Jackson were together for 11 years in Chicago, the majority of Pippen’s sympathy lies with Anthony, who has a diminished role with the team for the remainder of the season.

“There has not been any upside to think that the New York Knicks were gonna be a Cheap NFL Jerseys Nike contender, and I just feel bad for Carmelo having to go through this and having to deal with it, but Blue Jays Cheap Jerseys he got a great contract, so …” Pippen said.

“I’m sure the fans will love to see Carmelo in New York and Phil out.”
